UK House Prices Rise 1.0 Percent in February Above Forecasts
UK house prices rose 1.0 percent in the year to February, beating forecasts. Nationwide data indicates a modest recovery as mortgage approvals hold steady.
Residential property values in the United Kingdom experienced a stronger-than-anticipated uptick last month, recovering from a brief period of stagnation at the end of 2025. Data released by mortgage lender Nationwide Building Society showed that house prices climbed by 1.0% in the 12 months leading up to the end of February, surpassing the 0.7% median growth forecast by economists in a Reuters poll. This recovery follows a dip late last year that was largely attributed to uncertainty surrounding Finance Minister Rachel Reeves's budget.
On a monthly basis, prices in February rose by 0.3%, maintaining the same pace of growth seen in January while edging out the 0.2% increase predicted by analysts.
