The economy of the United Kingdom demonstrated unexpected strength in February, outperforming expectations just before the onset of geopolitical tensions involving Iran. Data released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on Thursday indicated that gross domestic product (GDP) expanded by 0.5% for the month, significantly higher than the 0.2% growth anticipated by economists in a Reuters poll. This performance marks the most robust monthly growth since January 2024.
