UBS CEO Sergio Ermotti expects to step down by 2030, signaling a leadership transition as the bank integrates Credit Suisse. Ermotti returned to the helm following the 2023 emergency takeover to stabilize the Swiss financial sector. The transition timeline is critical as UBS navigates tougher capital requirements that have pressured its valuation in Switzerland.
Ermotti told public broadcaster SRF on Friday that he does not expect to remain at the helm in four years. He is currently steering UBS through a regulatory overhaul following the state-engineered acquisition of Credit Suisse.
