In a report from Abuja on January 28, President Tayyip Erdogan tayyip erdoganannounced that Turkey TRTRaims to lift its bilateral trade volume with Nigeria NGNGto $5 billion from the current level of approximately $2 billion. Speaking after a high-level meeting with Nigerian President Bola Tinubu bola tinubu, the Turkish leader noted that while talks to reach this goal have officially begun, no specific timeline has been set for achieving the new target. This diplomatic engagement comes as Bola Tinubucontinues to promote foreign investment to spur growth in Nigeriafollowing a series of reforms introduced shortly after he took office in 2023.
