Donald Trump announced on Monday that the July 4 National Mall celebration will double as a "spectacular TRUMP RALLY." The event marks the 250th anniversary of American independence and anchors the administration's "Freedom 250" programming. This blending of an official state commemoration with a political rally intensifies scrutiny over the use of public spaces for personal branding.
