President Donald Trump has proposed a transition toward privatizing airport security operations across the United States, targeting the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The agency, which was established in response to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, currently manages screening at nearly every domestic airport with a workforce of approximately 50,000 federal employees.
