TotalEnergies Discovers Oil and Gas Offshore Congo
TotalEnergies found a 160-meter column of oil and gas offshore Republic of Congo. The discovery adds nearly 100 million barrels of recoverable resources.
The energy major TOTALENERGIES SE has confirmed the discovery of hydrocarbons during a drilling campaign aimed at expanding its Moho field operations offshore the Republic of the Congo. The exploration well successfully identified a column of oil and gas spanning 160 metres, marking a significant addition to the company's regional assets.

According to the firm, which is based in France, the Moho G discovery and the earlier Moho H find together represent recoverable resources estimated at nearly 100 million barrels. These results highlight the continued potential of the Moho field, which is already an operational site for the French major.
Energy analysts note that major oil corporations are showing renewed interest in West African offshore projects. This trend is driven by a strategic need to replenish resources as production declines in other mature fields globally. Such exploration successes are critical for the global supply chain and the long-term availability of Brent Crude Oil.
