ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) and the marine arm of ST Engineering have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint service and maintenance center in Singapore. The agreement, announced on Tuesday, is part of an existing partnership between the two companies and aims to ensure the long-term operational readiness of submarines operated by the navy and other international users of TKMS vessels.

TKMS, which is headquartered in Germany, currently supplies the Type 218SG submarines and associated training systems to the city-state. This new maritime hub will serve as a central point for maintenance and technical support, further strengthening the defense infrastructure and cooperation between the two engineering entities.
