Thomson Reuters Beats Q1 Estimates and Reaffirms Outlook
Thomson Reuters beat first-quarter estimates and reaffirmed its 2026 outlook. The firm reported strong demand for its specialized fiduciary-grade AI offerings.
THOMSON REUTERS CORP reported a 10% revenue increase to $2.09 billion on Tuesday morning, beating analyst estimates of $2.04 billion. The results follow a nearly 30% decline in the stock this year as investors weighed competition from artificial intelligence newcomers. Strong demand for specialized AI tools suggests the firm is successfully defending its market position against frontier models.
### Fiduciary-grade AI Drives Growth CEO Steve Hasker said legal, tax, and accounting professionals are adopting "fiduciary-grade AI" to avoid the risks of error and hallucination. Hasker noted that 2,700 internal legal experts and hundreds of accountants provide a proprietary data advantage over general AI models. The company reaffirmed its 2026 revenue forecast, projecting growth between 7.5% and 8%.
