Telia Surpasses First Quarter Profit Expectations

The major telecommunications provider AB SA has exceeded market expectations for its first-quarter financial performance. Based in Sweden, the operator reported a rise in core earnings attributed to robust service revenue growth and a strategic reduction in operational expenses.
For the first quarter, the company's adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) rose by 4.0% on a like-for-like basis. The final figure reached 7.94 billion Swedish crowns ($856.78 million), surpassing the 7.84 billion crowns projected by analysts in a company-compiled poll.
