Telefonica maintains 2026 outlook as results meet targets
The Spanish telecommunications group reported first-quarter revenue of 8.13 billion euros and confirmed its full-year growth targets. Despite a net loss linked to Latin American asset sales, adjusted EBITDA rose 1.8% as strong performance in Brazil helped offset weakness in the German market.
TELEFONICA SA confirmed its 2026 guidance after Q1 revenue rose 0.8% to 8.13 billion euros, meeting market expectations. The Spain-based carrier reported a 411 million euro net loss, narrowing from a 1.3 billion euro loss last year. Investors are focused on debt reduction as divestments in Latin America helped cut net financial debt by 1.5 billion euros.
Telefonica targets full-year revenue and adjusted EBITDA growth between 1.5% and 2.5% for 2026. Adjusted EBITDA rose 1.8% to 2.84 billion euros during the January-March period. Service revenue growth of 1.1% offset a 2.4% drop in handset sales.
