Tecto plans 2 billion dollar Brazil data center expansion
Tecto will build five data centers in Brazil as part of a 2 billion dollar investment. The firm targets untapped regions to expand services beyond major hubs.
Tecto Data Centers, an infrastructure firm backed by BTG PACTUAL PARTICIPAT-A-NEW, has announced a $2 billion investment plan to be completed by 2028. This initiative features the construction of five new data centers across Brazil, as the country aims to establish itself as a global hub for high-capacity digital infrastructure. Brazil is leveraging its abundant renewable energy and water resources to attract significant investment from major technology markets, including the United States and China.
While the Brazilian government is working to revive the Redata tax incentive program, Tecto executives stated that such incentives, while helpful, are not essential to their expansion strategy. Tito Costa, Chief Revenue Officer at Tecto, explained that the company is targeting untapped regions where businesses are currently forced to rely on hubs in Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro for top-tier services.
