Stellantis and Dongfeng to form European EV joint venture
Stellantis and Dongfeng will form a joint venture to sell and produce electric vehicles in Europe. The deal includes potential manufacturing at a French plant.
STELLANTIS NV and Dongfeng Automobile will form a 51/49 joint venture to produce and sell electric vehicles across Europe. The partnership targets the production of Dongfeng's premium Voyah brand at a plant in France. This deal allows Stellantis to utilize undercapacity in European factories while helping China-based Dongfeng reach its target of about 5 million units in annual sales by 2030.
The preliminary agreement covers sales, distribution, manufacturing, and engineering for Dongfeng's new energy vehicles (NEVs). Both companies confirmed the venture will focus on premium Voyah models for European markets. This builds on a deal signed the previous week for Dongfeng to manufacture Jeep and Peugeot brands in China.
