SpaceX Outlines IPO Details and Targets June Roadshow
SpaceX plans to earmark a large portion of its record IPO for retail investors. The company targets a June roadshow and aims to raise 75 billion dollars.
SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies Corp.) has detailed its plans for a landmark initial public offering (IPO), emphasizing a strategy that centers on retail investor participation. During a virtual meeting with its banking team on Monday evening, the company announced it would begin its investor roadshow in early June. The aerospace firm intends to allocate a significant portion of the offering to individual investors. Chief Financial Officer Bret Johnsen revealed that the company plans to invite 1,500 retail investors to a special event following the roadshow launch. Johnsen highlighted that this inclusive approach is a core part of the company's strategy. > "Retail is going to be a critical part of this and a bigger part than any IPO in history." According to sources familiar with the matter, the decision to prioritize retail investors is a deliberate effort to recognize the long-term support provided to the company and its founder, Elon Musk. Johnsen noted that these supporters have been instrumental to the company's progress and the offering is designed to ensure they are recognized. The meeting marked the first time the full banking syndicate convened for the process. SpaceX is aiming to raise $75 billion in the offering, which could result in a total valuation of up to $1.75 trillion. This move is seen as a significant departure from traditional IPO structures, positioning the rocket manufacturer for what could be the largest public debut in history.
