South Korea Q1 GDP Growth Revised Upward to 1.8 Percent
Revised central bank data shows South Korea's economy grew 1.8 percent in the first quarter, exceeding the initial estimate of 1.7 percent. Year-on-year growth for Asia's fourth-largest economy was also adjusted upward to 3.8 percent from 3.6 percent.
South Korea GDP grew 1.8% in the first quarter, exceeding the 1.7% advance estimate released in April. Revised central bank data shows South Korea expanded 3.8% from a year earlier, up from the previous 3.6% projection. The Bank of Korea figures released Tuesday indicate the January-March period outpaced initial expectations.
