South Korea Approves 17.7 Billion Dollar Extra Budget
South Korea's parliament passed a 26.2 trillion won supplementary budget on Friday. The funds aim to mitigate domestic economic damage caused by the Iran war.
The parliament of South Korea has approved a supplementary government budget of 26.2 trillion won, totaling approximately $17.7 billion, to mitigate the domestic economic impact of the ongoing conflict in Iran. The legislative body finalized the decision on Friday, aiming to provide a financial cushion as geopolitical tensions continue to affect global markets.

The funding is intended to address the immediate fiscal needs of the country as it navigates the economic consequences of the regional war. At the time of the announcement, the USD/KRW exchange rate was positioned at 1,482.5000 won per dollar.
The government’s intervention follows concerns over rising costs and potential disruptions to trade routes. By injecting these funds into the economy, officials hope to stabilize domestic industries and support businesses facing increased operational risks.
