SK Hynix Submits Confidential Filing for 2026 US Listing
SK Hynix filed for a US listing in 2026 to raise capital for advanced memory chip production. This move aims to narrow its valuation gap with global rivals.
SK hynix Inc. has taken a significant step toward a global expansion of its investor base by initiating a process for a potential listing in the United States. The semiconductor giant, based in South Korea, announced on Wednesday that it has submitted a confidential filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for a listing of American depository receipts targeted for 2026. In a domestic regulatory filing, the company clarified that while it aims to finalize the listing within the next year, specific details regarding the offering remain under development. > While we aim to complete the listing within 2026, specific details - such as the size, structure, and timeline of the offering - have not yet been finalized. Previous reports from the Korea Economic Daily indicate that the chipmaker is considering raising between 10 trillion and 15 trillion won, or approximately $10.03 billion, through the U.S. market debut. These funds are expected to facilitate the expansion of production capacity for advanced memory chips, which are in high demand across the technology sector. As a key supplier to NVIDIA Corporation, a successful U.S. listing would provide SK hynix Inc. with access to a broader pool of capital. Furthermore, the move is seen as a way to potentially narrow the valuation gap between the company and its global peers, such as Micron Technology, Inc..
