Singapore Airlines and Air NZ Expand Joint Network
Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand will increase seat capacity between their home countries by 17 percent starting in late October 2026. The expansion includes additional services to Christchurch and Auckland to meet rising travel demand and navigate global route disruptions.
SINGAPORE AIRLINES LTD and Air New Zealand will expand their joint flight network, increasing seat capacity between Singapore and New Zealand by 17% from a base of existing capacity. The expansion adds 72,000 seats for the Northern Winter season starting in late October this year. This move captures rising demand as carriers reroute flights to avoid Middle Eastern hubs amid conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iran.
### Capacity Surge and Route Adjustments Air New Zealand will launch three weekly services between Singapore and Christchurch using BOEING CO/THE 787 aircraft. Combined with existing operations from Singapore Airlines, the two carriers will provide 15 weekly services on this route from November 2026 through February 2027. Air New Zealand also plans to add four weekly Auckland services using both Boeing 777 and 787 models.
