In a landmark development for the precious metals market, silver breached the $77 mark for the first time, reaching an intraday high of $77.40 per ounce before closing at $77.30 on December 26. This milestone represents a 7.5% daily gain and a staggering 167% surge year-to-date. Meanwhile, gold hit a record high of $4,549.71 per ounce, closing at $4,531.41, up 1.2% on the day, and platinum surged 9.8% to $2,437.72 per ounce, marking its strongest weekly rise on record. Palladium also experienced a significant increase, jumping 14% to $1,927.81, its highest level in over three years.
