Shell seeks buyer for French highway petrol stations
Shell plans to sell its 60 French highway petrol stations according to Les Echos. The firm expects to find a buyer by Q3 and close the deal in early 2027.
Shell PLC plans to sell its highway petrol station network in France, which generated 108.5 million euros ($127.5 million) in operating profit in 2025. The company currently supplies fuel and services to 60 franchised locations on French motorways. Shell told worker representatives it expects to find a buyer in the third quarter of 2025 and finalize the transaction in early 2027.
Les Echos reported the divestment plan on Tuesday morning, citing documents shared with employees and suppliers. Shell operates these stations through third parties who pay fees for fuel and branding services. Shell declined to comment on the report.
