Saudi Oil Output Drops 600,000 BPD After Energy Attacks
Recent strikes on Saudi energy facilities have reduced oil production by 600,000 barrels per day. The attacks also disrupted major pipelines and refineries.
Recent attacks on energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia have significantly reduced the kingdom's oil production capacity and pipeline throughput, according to state media reports. An official source at the energy ministry indicated that the strikes have cut oil production capacity by approximately 600,000 barrels per day (bpd) and reduced throughput on the critical East-West pipeline by about 700,000 bpd.
The reduction in capacity includes a 300,000 bpd loss at the Manifa oilfield and a further 300,000 bpd cut at the Khurais facility, both key assets for SAUDI ARABIAN OIL CO. The East-West pipeline, which serves as a primary route for supplying global markets, saw its operations curtailed after a pumping station was targeted.
