This record performance in South Korea was driven by surging demand for memory chips used in artificial intelligence infrastructure. Investors are tracking Samsung's ability to secure high-margin supply contracts as hyperscalers ramp up spending on AI data centers.

Samsung confirmed it has signed multi-year binding contracts to lock in supplies for AI clients. The chip division accounted for 94% of the record 57.2 trillion won total operating profit reported on Thursday.
