S&P Upgrades Ukraine's Sovereign Rating Amid Debt Restructuring

S&P has upgraded Ukraine's credit rating to CCC+ following a successful $2.6 billion debt exchange. This marks progress in Ukraine's financial recovery.

S&P Global Ratings has upgraded Ukraine's sovereign credit rating to CCC+ from SD (selective default) on January 22, 2026, following the successful completion of a $2.6 billion exchange of GDP warrants for new securities. This upgrade, supported by more than 99% of debtholders, represents a significant milestone in Ukraine's recovery from the sovereign debt default triggered by Russia's 2022 full-scale invasion.
