Rubio says Iran deal could take days amid new strikes
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicated that a memorandum of understanding to halt the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz may be days away following defensive strikes in southern Iran. While both sides report progress on indirect talks in Doha, Tehran continues to demand the release of 24 billion dollars in frozen funds as a condition for the initial agreement.

United States Senator Marco Rubio said an agreement with Iran may take several days following fresh American strikes. Negotiators aim to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, where daily traffic fell from 140 vessels to a few dozen. A deal would restore 20% of global oil and LNG flows, potentially easing the supply shock active since February.
