RTL Group Forecasts Streaming Profitability for 2026
RTL Group expects its streaming unit to turn a profit this year. The firm reported a 2025 operating profit of 661 million euros, beating analyst expectations.
European broadcaster RTL Group S.A. expects its streaming business to reach profitability by 2026 as it pivots its strategy to reduce startup losses. The company projects a streaming operating profit between 25 million and 50 million euros for the 2026 fiscal year, alongside a total full-year profit target of approximately 725 million euros. Management noted that the streaming unit nearly reached a break-even point in the fourth quarter of 2025.

The market environment in 2025 remained challenging for the media industry. Despite these headwinds, the firm reported an adjusted operating profit of 661 million euros ($766.89 million), an 8% decline year-on-year that nevertheless beat the company-provided consensus estimate of 652 million euros.
"Against this backdrop, RTL Group further accelerated its transformation by reallocating resources to streaming, combined with comprehensive cost reductions across our main businesses."
CEO Thomas Rabe provided this statement as the company continues its transition. RTL is also proposing a dividend of 5.50 euros per share, a move bolstered by the sale of its business in the Netherlands in July.
