A senior official from the central bank of Australia indicated on Monday that he lacks full confidence in the current level of interest rates to effectively curb inflation. Speaking at an engagement in the United States, Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) Deputy Governor Andrew Hauser noted that the policy outlook must now incorporate the potential economic fallout from the conflict involving Iran.
I wouldnt say we have high confidence that we’ve set interest rates at the right level because you never do have that high confidence.
