TrumpRx website to list 600 generics to lower drug costs
The TrumpRx website will now list 600 generic drugs to lower prescription costs. The site integrates prices from Amazon and GoodRx. It helps uninsured users.
The United States will add 600 generic medicines to its TrumpRx.gov pricing website to lower prescription costs for uninsured patients. The expansion increases the platform's drug listings sevenfold by integrating widely used treatments for cholesterol and diabetes. This move aims to align domestic prices with international benchmarks through existing most-favored-nation agreements with 17 pharmaceutical manufacturers.
### Expanding Access to Low-Cost Generics TrumpRx now features generic versions of atorvastatin and metformin, which previously only listed branded medications. President Donald Trump announced the expansion during a White House event on Monday, noting that generics represent over 90% of all medicines sold in the country. Billionaire Mark Cuban, founder of Cost Plus Drugs, attended the event. TrumpRx functions as a price aggregator, directing users to external pharmacies rather than selling medications directly.
