Poland seeks to ban Israeli minister Ben-Gvir
Poland's foreign minister called for a ban on Israeli far-right police minister Itamar Ben-Gvir entering the country after Israeli forces detained Gaza flotilla activists, including Polish nationals. The detention came after Ben-Gvir oversaw the forced detention of aid workers aboard a Gaza-bound flotilla. Poland demanded an apology and the immediate release of its citizens, who were repatriated on Thursday.
Poland requested a formal entry ban for Israel Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir following the detention of two Polish nationals. Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski summoned Israel's chargé d'affaires to demand an apology for the treatment of Global Sumud Flotilla activists. The diplomatic rift threatens bilateral ties and highlights growing European pressure on Israeli officials over humanitarian aid access.
