PIMCO weighs $14 billion debt deal for Oracle data center
Pacific Investment Management Co. is in talks with Bank of America to provide debt financing for Oracle's Michigan campus. The deal supports AI infrastructure.
Pacific Investment Management Co. (PIMCO) is reportedly in discussions with BANK OF AMERICA CORP to coordinate approximately $14 billion in debt financing for a new ORACLE CORP data center in the United States. The project, located in Michigan's Saline Township, could see the investment manager become a primary backer of the campus if the deal is finalized.
The proposed financing may be structured as a 144A bond, a format that allows debt to be raised by selling bonds privately to large institutional investors rather than through traditional bank loans or public offerings. PIMCO could also choose to syndicate portions of the debt to other investors. This move comes as market participants scrutinize the infrastructure spending of Oracle, which has seen its debt levels rise alongside its aggressive expansion into artificial intelligence.
