Oil prices climbed on Friday as the United States and Iran extended their nuclear negotiations into next week, tempering immediate concerns regarding potential hostilities and supply interruptions. Brent Crude Oil futures increased by 87 cents, or 1.2%, to reach $71.62 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate prices, represented by W&T Offshore, Inc., climbed 87 cents, or 1.3%, to $66.08. Despite the daily gains, both benchmarks are set to end the week slightly lower, with Brent down 0.1% and WTI down 0.4%.
Uncertainty prevails, fear is pushing prices slightly higher today.
