Oaktree Credit Fund Raises Offer Amid Redemption Surge
Oaktree raised its tender offer to 7 percent to meet a surge in redemption requests. Investors sought to withdraw 6.8 percent of shares in the credit fund.
The Oaktree Strategic Credit Fund, a private credit vehicle managed by Oaktree Capital Management, experienced a notable surge in investor redemption requests during the first quarter of 2026. According to a regulatory filing disclosed on Friday, March 27, shareholders sought to withdraw approximately 13.9 million shares, which accounts for roughly 6.8% of the fund's total outstanding shares.
In response to the increased withdrawal activity, the asset manager has raised its quarterly tender offer to 7% of outstanding shares, up from the previous 5% threshold. This strategic move allows the fund to fully honor the current volume of redemption requests without necessitating pro-rata cutbacks for investors looking to exit their positions.
