NYSE and Securitize to Develop Tokenized Asset Platform
NYSE and Securitize are building a platform for tokenized securities. The project aims to establish digital standards for trading stocks and ETFs on blockchain.
The New York Stock Exchange, a subsidiary of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc., has announced a strategic partnership with digital asset firm Securitize. This collaboration aims to facilitate the creation of tokenized versions of traditional financial instruments, marking a significant shift toward blockchain integration within legacy finance.
Under the agreement, Securitize will act as the primary digital transfer agent for issuers of corporate and exchange-traded funds on a forthcoming digital trading platform affiliated with the exchange. The two organizations intend to design a system capable of processing tokenized securities trades directly on a blockchain ledger.
