Novavax, Inc. has raised its adjusted revenue outlook for 2026, anticipating that milestone payments from vaccine supply and licensing agreements will counter the impact of declining demand. The biotechnology company now expects 2026 adjusted revenue to range between $230 million and $270 million, up from its previous estimate of $185 million to $205 million. This updated forecast excludes potential sales and royalties from its strategic partnership with SANOFI SA - NV26.

In its fourth-quarter financial results, the company reported a net income of $18 million, swinging from a net loss of $81 million in the prior year. Total revenue for the quarter rose 67% to $147 million, surpassing the average analyst estimate of $78.84 million. These gains were driven by significant cost-cutting measures and revenue from licensing deals.

The company is navigating a shifting regulatory landscape in the United States, where changes in federal vaccine policy have influenced vaccination rates. Novavax CEO John Jacobs addressed the evolving environment during a discussion on the industry's future.

We probably disagree as a scientific community and an industry with some of their positions, but we do see a pathway forward.

The regulatory climate was recently underscored by the experience of Moderna, Inc., which saw the Food and Drug Administration reverse an initial refusal to review its mRNA-based flu vaccine after an amended application was submitted. Jacobs noted the importance of such regulatory progress.

It was good to see them have a regulatory path forward for their flu vaccine.

Novavax projects it will reach profitability by 2028, bolstered by the launch of products developed with Sanofi, including a combined COVID-flu vaccine. Additionally, the company recently expanded its portfolio by licensing its Matrix-M adjuvant technology to Pfizer Inc. for up to $530 million.

We have more interest than I've ever seen in three years in our tech and some great conversations going on.
