Nestle India Profit Rises 26 Percent on Strong Demand
Nestle India reported a 26 percent rise in quarterly profit to 11.14 billion rupees as demand for packaged foods grew. Revenue reached a record 67.48 billion.
NESTLE INDIA LTD reported a 26% increase in quarterly profit, driven by robust demand for packaged food products. The company, operating in India, saw its net profit rise to 11.14 billion rupees ($119.12 million) for the quarter ending March 31, compared to 8.85 billion rupees during the same period the previous year.
Revenue for the quarter grew by 23% to 67.48 billion rupees, as the company achieved its highest-ever domestic sales figures. The growth was largely fueled by consumer interest in popular brands like Maggi instant noodles and KitKat chocolates. This performance follows a recovery in consumption that began roughly a year ago, aided by cooling inflation and fiscal measures such as tax cuts.

The Indian subsidiary of the food giant NESTLE SA-REG, which is based in Switzerland, noted that domestic demand remains a primary driver of its financial success. However, the company faces potential challenges in the near future. Rising costs associated with Brent Crude Oil and other commodities, often linked to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, could exert pressure on profit margins for consumer goods manufacturers in the coming months.
