Muthoot Finance Q4 Profit Doubles on Gold Loan Growth
Muthoot Finance net profit doubled as gold loan assets grew 50%. Higher interest margins and strong credit demand supported the results for the quarter.
MUTHOOT FINANCE LTD doubled its fourth-quarter profit to 30.86 billion rupees ($322.26 million) as gold-loan demand surged in India. The 105% jump in net income for the period ending March 31 follows a 50% year-on-year expansion of its loan portfolio. High Gold prices are driving record collateral values, allowing the lender to capture higher margins while maintaining aggressive growth.
### Asset Growth Drives Revenue Surge Total revenue from operations rose 68.5% to 81.80 billion rupees during the quarter. This growth was underpinned by standalone gold loan assets under management, which climbed 50% to reach 1.63 trillion rupees.
