Motorola Solutions Buys D-Fend Solutions for $1.5 Billion
Motorola Solutions has agreed to purchase Israeli counter-drone firm D-Fend Solutions for 1.5 billion dollars to meet rising security demand. The deal is expected to close in late 2026 as governments seek technology to safely intercept rogue drones.
Motorola Solutions Inc will acquire D-Fend Solutions, an Israeli counter-drone specialist, for $1.5 billion. The deal targets rising demand from governments and infrastructure operators to neutralize aerial security threats. Motorola Solutions, a U.S. telecom equipment firm, announced the acquisition on Monday, June 1.
The acquisition reflects growing military and civilian need for non-kinetic drone interception systems. Recent conflicts, including the U.S.-Israeli operations in the Middle East, have underscored the necessity for technology that can safely manage unauthorized aircraft. Simple detection alone no longer suffices for airspace security.
