Merz offers technology for Brazil's critical metals

During the Hanover industrial fair, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz highlighted the significant potential for Brazil to expand its supply of critical metals to Germany. Merz emphasized that the two nations could form a strategic partnership where German technological expertise supports the extraction of materials essential for the green energy transition.
The discussions, held alongside Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, focused on cost-effective extraction methods for metals required in the production of wind turbines and electric vehicles. Merz stated that his administration is prepared to offer the necessary technical know-how to strengthen bilateral ties in the mining sector.
