The shipping giant Maersk has announced the temporary suspension of two major container services connecting the Middle East to Asia and Europe as the conflict involving Iran continues to disrupt global trade routes. The Danish group, headquartered in Denmark, confirmed it would halt its FM1 service, which links the Far East to the Middle East, as well as the ME11 service connecting the Middle East to Europe. This move was described as a necessary step to protect operations and staff.
This decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of our personnel and vessels while minimizing operational disruption across our wider network.
