Lindt Cuts 2026 Sales Forecast as Shares Drop Sharply
Lindt lowered its 2026 sales growth outlook today citing weak consumer sentiment. Shares fell despite the firm reporting a 10% rise in annual operating profit.
Chocoladefabriken Lindt & Sprüngli AG saw its shares tumble on Tuesday after the premium confectioner lowered its long-term sales growth outlook, citing a combination of weak volumes and dampened consumer sentiment. Based in Switzerland, the company adjusted its 2026 organic growth expectations to a range of 4% to 6%, a significant reduction from its previous target of 6% to 8%.
The announcement triggered a sharp sell-off in the market. Registered shares fell by 6.2%, while CHOCOLADEFABRIKEN LINDT-PC experienced an 8.2% drop. This decline represents the steepest single-day loss for the participation certificates since March 2009.
