Liberia
LR expects its iron ore production to triple this year, reaching approximately 30 million metric tons. This surge is primarily driven by a planned ramp-up from ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) and additional volumes from both new and revived mining projects across the country. The projected output marks a significant increase from the roughly 10 million tons produced in 2025.
To support this expansion, major upgrades are underway for a new concentrator, as well as railway and port upgrades. ArcelorMittal S.A. , headquartered in Luxembourg
LU, has outlined a plan to ship 20 million tons in 2026 through its local subsidiary. These infrastructure improvements are designed to push throughput capacity toward a target of 30 million tons per annum.
