Kuwait increases May official selling prices for Asia
Kuwait raised May crude prices for Asia to seventeen dollars above regional benchmarks. The increase applies to both Export Crude and Super Light grades.
Kuwait has increased the official selling prices (OSP) for its crude oil exports to Asia for the month of May, according to a pricing document released on Monday. The state-owned producer raised the premium for its primary export grade, Kuwait Export Crude, to $17 per barrel above the average of Oman and Dubai quotes. This adjustment reflects the producer's latest valuation of its crude relative to regional benchmarks.
In addition to the standard export grade, the producer also increased the May OSP for Kuwait Super Light crude. The price for this grade was similarly set at $17 per barrel over the Oman/Dubai average. These pricing decisions are closely monitored by market participants as they influence the procurement costs for refineries across Asia and interact with the pricing of global benchmarks like Brent Crude Oil.
