Kremlin Says No Plans for Putin and Trump Telephone Call
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that no telephone call is currently planned between the Russian and U.S. presidents. While American negotiators maintain contact with both sides, Russia currently views European mediation as unacceptable due to their focus on continuing the conflict.
Russia has no immediate plans for a telephone call between President Vladimir Putin and United States President Donald Trump. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on Tuesday that while communication channels remain open, no specific dates are set for a visit by American envoys. The pause in direct leadership contact reflects a stalled mediation process that has struggled to regain momentum since February.
### Mediation Efforts Stalled by Regional Conflict U.S. negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner continue to maintain contact with both Russian and Ukrainian officials. Their previous mediation efforts between Russia and Ukraine halted following military action involving the United States and Israel against Iran. Peskov noted that while the process is on hold, Russia remains open to hosting the negotiators at any time.
