KBC profit misses estimates on geopolitical buffers

### War Buffers Erode Quarterly Earnings The 165-million-euro impairment represents a more than 100-million-euro increase over the same period last year. KBC allocated 75 million euros specifically for geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainties linked to the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. CEO Johan Thijs stated that downward revisions to global growth and rising inflation expectations necessitated the move.
