JP Morgan raises Nikkei year-end target to 70,000 on AI
JP Morgan raised its year-end target for the Nikkei average to 70,000 today citing the AI boom and weak yen. The Topix target was also hiked further to 4,300.
JPMORGAN CHASE & CO has significantly raised its year-end forecast for the Nikkei share average in Japan, projecting the index will reach 70,000. This revision follows a previous target of 61,000 and reflects growing optimism surrounding technological advancements and currency dynamics. The bank also increased its target for the broader ONE ETF TOPIX index to 4,300 from an earlier estimate of 4,100.
Analysts pointed to a surge in artificial intelligence development and the continued weakness of the USD/JPY exchange rate as primary drivers for the upward revision. These factors are expected to bolster corporate earnings and attract further investment into the region's equity markets.
