Japan exports rise 4.2 percent beating market forecasts

Japan exports rose 4.2 percent in February marking a sixth straight month of growth. The trade balance reached a surprise surplus of 57.3 billion yen as a result.

Japan recorded a 4.2% increase in exports this February compared to the previous year, marking the sixth consecutive month of growth. According to data released by the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday, the result significantly exceeded market expectations, as economists surveyed in a Reuters poll had anticipated a more modest 1.6% rise.
