Ivory Coast cocoa farmers expect strong mid-crop harvest following beneficial rains
Recent rainfall across key growing regions has improved soil moisture for the upcoming mid-crop harvest. Farmers now anticipate a strong yield starting in May.
Above-average light rainfall fell last week across the main cocoa-producing regions of Ivory Coast
CI, improving soil moisture levels and supporting the development of small pods for the mid-crop (April-September). This development is considered timely because the rains occurred during the country's official dry season, which runs from mid-November to March, and arrived in the week immediately preceding the critical development window for the mid-crop. The health of the mid-crop is a significant factor influencing the upcoming mid-crop harvest and the overall national cocoa output for the world's top cocoa producer.
