Ivanhoe Mines Ltd , headquartered in CA CACA, announced today that it has successfully met its 2025 production targets across its key mining operations in CD CDCD. The Kamoa-Kakula copper complex delivered a total of 388,838 metric tons of copper in concentrate for the year, placing the results firmly within the company's previously stated guidance range of 380,000 to 420,000 tons. Simultaneously, the Kipushi zinc mine reported a record 203,168 tons of zinc in concentrate in 2025. These operational milestones come at a time when Kamoa-Kakula is recognized as one of the world's most significant new copper sources, providing critical volume to a global market where Copper Futures are impacted by tight supply and slow project growth.
A major highlight of the year was the late-2025 startup of Africa's largest copper smelter, which is now averaging a daily production of 500 tons of 99.7%-pure copper anodes. Ivanhoe Mines Ltdconfirmed that the first exports from the new smelter are expected imminently. The ramp-up of this facility is a strategic development intended to reduce logistics costs by more than halving the total tons of material required to be transported per unit of copper. Furthermore, the transition to integrated on-site smelting will allow the company to generate new revenue streams through the production and sale of sulfuric acid.
