Italian Exports to U.S. Grow Despite Trade Tariffs
Italian exports to the U.S. rose 7.2% in 2025 as other EU economies saw declines under trade tariffs. ISTAT reported a 50.7 billion euro trade surplus.

Italy emerged as the only major European Union economy to record a significant increase in exports to the United States in 2025, according to a report on industry competitiveness from the national statistics agency ISTAT. Despite the introduction of new tariffs, Italian goods exports to the U.S. rose by 7.2% year-on-year. This growth occurred while Germany and Spain saw their exports drop by more than 9%, and France recorded a 0.9% dip.
