Iran denies charging tolls for Indian tankers in Hormuz
Tehran's ambassador to New Delhi stated Monday that Indian tankers have not paid tolls to transit the Strait of Hormuz. India has also denied making payments.
The Iranian ambassador to India has officially denied allegations that Tehran is charging tolls for Indian tankers navigating the strategic Strait of Hormuz. This statement follows recent declarations from the United States, where President Donald Trump pledged to obstruct the passage of any vessels found to be making payments to Iran.
Ambassador Mohammad Fathali addressed reporters at a briefing held at the Iranian embassy in New Delhi, suggesting that the Indian government could verify the lack of such charges. He emphasized the bilateral cooperation between the two nations during the current geopolitical tensions.
