Invesco Remains Bullish on Indian Bonds Amid Risks
The asset manager views recent rate hike fears as overblown and favors medium term government bonds. Strong central bank policy supports a stable rupee outlook.
INVESCO LTD, one of the world's largest asset managers, maintains a bullish stance on the debt market in India, suggesting that current market fears regarding potential interest rate hikes are premature. Despite geopolitical tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, the firm sees significant value in medium-term government bonds.
Norbert Ling, head of fixed income portfolio management for Asia Pacific at Invesco, highlighted the three- to seven-year segment of the yield curve as particularly attractive. While yields have risen between 36 and 41 basis points since late February, Ling believes the market has become overly pessimistic.
